A "Real" House

Do you remember the story of The Velveteen Rabbit when the old horse talks about what it's like to become "real"?

'It doesn't happen all at once,' said the Skin Horse. 'You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.”
― Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit

Well, I feel like this house had become real long before we came along, but as we put our heart and souls into it and watch it take shape, it's finally starting to feel real to us. The drywall stage is one of the most dramatic & really gives us a clear picture of what the house will ultimately look like. It is so beautiful! The angles in the upstairs ceiling are especially wonderful. Have a look at the pictures, but it would be better to come see it in person because the pictures don't do it justice.
